Tippy Canoe
Originally from Baltimore and now based in sunny Oakland, songbird and solo uke-slinger, Tippy Canoe (Michele Kappel), made the switch from a 5-piece drum kit with the garage-pop princesses The Kirby Grips (Sympathy For The Record Industry), to a 4-stringed ukulele in 2003. Since then she’s been on a mission with her band the Paddlemen to bring sincere uplift in a severely down-slanted era by spreading her hook-laden pop-meets-roots music. On her debut full-length album, “Parasols & Pekingese,” released in 2008 on Late Bloomers Works and recorded with her full band the Paddlemen, Tippy Canoe shows off her enchanting and dynamic sound. Her voice is a mixture of the 60's girl group sound and classic country with its own quirky nature shining through.

Wildsang
Blues Duo WILDSANG is currently blowing the top off the Blues community with the sheer force and intensity of their music and message. It has been a long while since anyone has climbed inside a blues song and come out the other side the way WILDSANG does. Hillary Kay (vocals, guitar) and Kate Freeman (harmonica) hail from New Mexico, but their music is rooted deep in the sounds of the Mississippi Delta and the Piedmont Plateau, helping to keep the tradition alive. You can almost hear these two souls hanging in the balance on every note. You can listen to WILDSANG on the web at WILDSANG.COM, but whatever you do... DON'T MISS A LIVE SHOW. WILDSANG delivers songs chock full of almost all the sweat, grit, tragedy, bare truth, desperation, deep love and sacrifice that you can squeeze out of the blues.

Girl Talk Band
Girl Talk Band, is a long standing Bay Area group that performs unusual groovy world jazz from Brasilian choros, tangos, latin blues, South American folk, even verging on a bit psychedelic... and definitely off the beaten tracks!  In their trio mode performing for this event is band founder, Valerie Bach on guitar and cavaquinho, bringing her Sephardic and 60's rock influences to the group, joined by cellist Laura Boytz who's always adding her Latin influenced soulful heart moving voice to these songs not heard too much! accompanied by the eclectic middle eastern rhythms of hand percussionist, Katja Cooper. Their music truly reflects their trips to different worlds.

Violet the Clown

I am Twelveteen years YOUNG and have been Clowning since I was a GROAN-UP. Born in a New York City nursery, my favorite color is definitely GREEN! I am a licensed, award-LOSING, TWO-of-a-kind (thank goodness) clown who HATES to play with kids of all ages. Lots of people invite me to all kinds of fun events: corporate parties, birthdays, anniversaries, grand CLOSINGS, banquets, family reunions, weddings, hospital and nursing home visits, rocket launchings, Bar Mitzvahs and garage sales. I am infamous for my singing Clown-O-Grams. They can enliven any occasion or no occasion. They are guaranteed to be FORGETTABLE!

Note: Violet usually says the opposite of what she means. For clarification, we have capitalized the inverted words.
